I am black with very very tight coiled hair in my crown, 4 months ago it was 1 cm long because of harsh chemicals, that was a wake up call. Now it is almost 5 inches long, this stuff is great and in the back of my head my hair has grew to 7 inches. Theres a lot of misconception in the black community that you need to cut off all of your hair & start over or slap some stuff on your head to get it growing. When in reality most of the fight is inside the body. I have also been taking iron pills, and vitamin D. because deficiency in those things can also cause slow growth.

When I saw the reviews praising this product, I was incredulous! I straighten my hair on a regular basis & have used every home product & salon service imaginable. (Chi, Bio-ionic, Coppola Keratin, etc.) This product was BY FAR the WORST! I followed the instructions to a tee & aside from giving me hair that smelled absolutely ATROCIOUS, it produced NO result. Though I usually have my hair done professionally, I have been doing home treatments on myself & friends/family for 25+ years so, I am VERY comfortable with do-it-yourself kits. My hair is wavy & average texture so, I can't even begin to imagine that it would work for anyone with curly or coarse hair. Don't waste your time or money!

My wife and I get one of these every year for her sister to add to her collection. They seem to be nice collectibles. I can't give it a full 5 star rating due to the box having some minor dents and bends. For a collector this might mean something and for others the case is just more packaging. I give it a 4.5 over all because it was a good deal and about $5-$10 cheaper that any store we checked for this year's doll.
