After using another brand's liquid castille soap on my son for awhile and countering the drying aftereffects on his skin with lotions and oils, I've switched to this EMBA foaming wash and couldn't be happier. While I am not partial to orange vanilla scents, the aroma of this wash is mild enough and, more importantly for us, the wash is non-drying, rinses well and does the job of cleaning up a 4 y/o that plays hard. One caveat: this is a shampoo and body wash but I don't use this on his hair as it leaves it dull and a bit straw-like.
Many years ago, I read Murray's earlier controversial book, The Bell Curve. When I read Coming Apart, I was reminded of what I liked and did not like about The Bell Curve. The author is a top notch writer and weaves a great story from the enormous range of statistical studies that he draws upon. The problem that I have is that the inferences that he draws from the statistics in order to support his thesis are far too broad. The data that he pulls together are really important. They support the idea that white America has split into very different camps and he focuses on two extremes. The first of these is the Ivy League yuppie types who live in their little enclaves, totally insulated from reality. I live in one of the places that he describes and he astutely challenges his readers to examine their own positions and lifestyles and notes that probably the readers of his book are overwhelmingly in the new elite. And here we already run up on some of the limits of Murray's thesis. He asserts but in no way proves that the demographic enclaves of the white educated and professional upper middle class are made up of a homogeneous group of private-school-educated upper-middle-class elites who have never seen nor understood the world beyond theirs. The fact that most Ivy Leaguers end up in these enclaves does not mean that everyone there has the same background. There is a critical flaw in the logic. Yes, the author's caricature of well-educated well-off yuppies who are comfortably ensconced in their safe smoke-free world is entertaining and may hit a nerve or two, but the statistics are used to support the story rather than the story emerging from the statistics.
Great product. I purchased this product to help with my hair and make it grow healthier as well as making my skin glow. I have used for a month now and I absolutely love the results I'm getting. My skin is way more soft and less breaking down, my hair significantly decreased in falling down and started having lots of baby hair. My friends and family started noticing how much thicker my hair looks and I'm very pleased with this collagen. I will defenitly purchase again.
The characters were engaging and the plot and was well paced. I think the book could do a bit more to develop the other characters and set the scene before jumping in. Another 20,000 words would make it even better -- but very solid regardless!
The majority of "oxygen" products on the market aren't... well, legit. However, there's a few that work - ozone, mms, and cellfood. People that are in good health may not experience any discernible benefits. I also don't know about the "athletic-performance" claims. I do know that yeast/fungus/bacterial issues are what cellfood deals with beautifully. If you fall into this category, you have to try it. The results were astonishing.
This book will allow you to make the most of your stay no matter how long you plan to be there. It gives you all the tips you need to know to make your stay a most enjoyable and safe one. What to see, where to eat, where to stay, how to move around, everything! Both within the city and nearby! Rick Steves is a marvelous guide, and funny, too! Additionally you get pointers to excellent resources like walking guides you can download to your smart phone (I used them and really enjoyed them; it makes a GREAT difference to know what to look at and what you're looking at! Specially, when there is so much to see!).
